Complaints

We are committed to providing a high quality legal service to all our clients. When something goes wrong, we need you to tell us about it. This will help us to improve our standards.

Please contact us if you have a complaint or dissatisfaction with:

  • The way you have been treated by the Law Centre
  • The standard of service you have received from the Law Centre
  • The quality of advice you have received from the Law Centre
  • Anything else that has upset you and you feel that it has not been dealt with properly by the member of staff dealing with your case

How to make a complaint

  • You can telephone the Law Centre on 020 8694 2516
  • Email the Law Centre via at info@lewishamlawcentre.org.uk
  • Write to Lewisham Law Centre, 28 Deptford High Street, London SE8 4AF
  • Call in to the Law Centre and ask to speak to someone who will take details of your complaint

How your complaint will be dealt with

  • We will acknowledge receipt of your complaint within fourteen working days of receiving it.
  • We will then investigate your complaint and may ask you for further information.
  • We will send you a detailed reply with suggestions for resolving your complaint, normally within two weeks, or may invite you to the Law Centre to discuss and hopefully resolve your complaint.

If you are not satisfied with the outcome

  • You have the right to make your complaint to the Management Committee of the Law Centre.
  • You can do this by putting it in writing and addressing it to The Chair, Lewisham Law Centre, at the address above.
  • Your complaint will then be reviewed by the Management Committee and a written response sent to you, normally within four weeks.

Other places to complain

The Law Centre receives funding from two main areas. The Legal Services Commission and Lewisham Council. Should you not be happy with the way in which the Law Centre Management Committee has dealt with your complaint you can complain to them.
